Hi, I'm Ria. Many clients called me "The Baby Whisper" early in my career before I discovered the Newborn Care Specialist designation. I have always loved babies, especially newborns, where I can help the whole family come together as a loving unit. With expert guidance for both new and experienced parents, I help them establish consistent routines for sleeping, feeding, and playtime that encourage physical and cognitive development for any age group.
Initially born in Trinidad, I learned of the nanny profession when I relocated to the United States in the 1990s. From my very first assignment, I knew I had found my calling. Over the years, I have worked with families worldwide, including in Canada, London, Qatar, and the US.
I love to travel domestically and internationally, especially with very young children and newborns. I am honest and loyal in everything I do, always keeping the best interest of the infant forefront of my mind. It is a privilege to help raise a child, experiencing the milestones with the parents, from seeing the first smile to watching their infant take their first steps.

This is our wholehearted recommendation of Ria Sieunarine-Shaw's services as a professional Newborn Care Specialist (NCS). Ria arrived at our home two days before our son Avery was born in April 2018. Since then, she has worked incredibly hard to make Avery feel happy, safe, and loved. Ria is the most qualified and loving NCS we could ever hope to find. She is recognized as a superstar in her field whose advice is sought by colleagues and parents far and wide.
Ria stays in close touch with all of her former families, which is another testament to her character and commitment. A few weeks ago Baby Avery had his first playdate with two toddlers that Ria previously cared for (and their puppy, too). Thanks to Ria, Avery had a fabulous time and showed the self-esteem needed to interact with older children. His social development is certainly further along than it would be without Ria's guidance.
Despite her modesty, Ria is expert in all baby matters. Every time we had an issue or needed to take Avery to the doctor, Ria already knew what the expert would say. Likewise, when Avery wouldn't drink enough milk, Ria developed a custom program to keep him healthy and growing.
In summary, it would be very difficult to do better than Ria - both in terms of expertise and love. She has become like a third grandmother to Avery. As we witness Ria receiving phone calls from her former charges as they graduate college and successfully navigate other major milestones, it's a tremendous credit to the long-term impact of her work. We look forward to watching our baby grow into a happy, confident young man, and expect that he'll seek Ria's input all along the way.
